Supply of API 5L X65M PSL2 steel pipe at Trial production Block B - O Mon projects

The trial production project at Block B – O Mon is part of a very large gas power project chain. The investment for the project amounts to nearly 12 billion USD. The project chain includes the development project of gas fields Block B 48/98 & 52/97 (upstream), the Block B – O Mon pipeline project (midstream), and four gas-fired power plants O Mon I, II, III, IV (downstream). Block B, 48/95, and 52/97 (collectively referred to as Block B) are located in the southwest offshore region of Vietnam, within the Malay – Tho Chu basin of Vietnam's continental shelf, about 300 km from the Ca Mau coastline and approximately 400 km from the O Mon Power Center. It is expected that during the stable period, the gas production from this project chain will be around 5.06 billion m³/year, supporting gas supply for the gas power plants at the O Mon Power Center in the context of depleting old domestic gas fields, playing a crucial role in ensuring national energy security.

In 2018, PV PIPE played a role in supplying API 5L standard gas pipes for the above trial production project.
