The BK-20 is a generation of small BK platforms with an optimized design and low construction and operational costs aimed at developing small and marginal fields. The BK-20 is designed as an unmanned wellhead platform, controlled remotely from the mother platform CPP-3.
The base structure and the topside are designed in a compact form; the auxiliary deck (MSF), topside, and helideck are designed as a single unit. The total construction weight of the BK-20 platform (including piles, base, and topside) is nearly 2,300 tons, which is more than 30% less than the total construction weight of previous BK platforms by Vietsovpetro, thus significantly reducing construction costs by 28% to 37% compared to earlier production platforms.
The BK-20 extracts from the MTD-2X well in the Bach Ho field, with an initial oil flow rate of 288 tons per day.
