Supply of API 2B steel pipe for BK-TNG projects

The BK-TNG platform is a super-heavy structure with a total weight of up to 15,000 tons located at the Thien Ung field on Block 04-3, in the Nam Con Son basin. The platform is situated 270 km from the mainland and has a depth of 120 meters. The Thien Ung field was discovered by Vietsovpetro in early 2009 through the exploratory well TU-3X, which is assessed to be a small field. The exploitation of the field is considered a challenging economic, technical, and technological problem. The development project for the Thien Ung field in Block 04-3 is one of many comprehensive planning projects aimed at developing gas sources in the Nam Con Son basin area, creating infrastructure to connect and stimulate exploration and exploitation in this vast deep-water continental shelf area off the southern coast of Vietnam. The expected production capacity of the BK-TNG platform is projected to peak at 700 million cubic meters of gas by 2019.
