Bach Ho field is one of the largest and most important oil fields in Vietnam, located in the Cuu Long sedimentary basin, about 120 km from the coast of Vung Tau. Bach Ho mine was discovered in 1975 and began mining in 1986. Bach Ho mine is still continuously being developed to this day. Vietsovpetro is the main unit in oil exploitation at Bach Ho field. From this oil field there is also an accompanying gas pipeline supplying Dinh Co gas processing plant, Ba Ria power plant and Phu My power plant.
