As one of the young member units facing many challenges in the initial stage, Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation Limited (PV GAS PIPE) always strives to overcome difficulties. In particular, social security programs (ASXH), local support, helping disadvantaged families are regularly implemented by PV GAS PIPE, with practical actions and community outreach. The PV GAS PIPE Golden Heart Club (CLB) is a charity organization.
The Golden Hearts Club PV GAS PIPE (CLB) is a charitable organization formed and developed since 2015, based on gathering enthusiastic youth members of PV GAS PIPE in the social work movement, carrying out voluntary activities to visit and help families in special difficult circumstances, orphans, elderly people living alone, poor patients, aiming to share both material and spiritual aspects with those in precarious situations, contributing to building a better community life.
After nearly 10 years of continuous operation, the Golden Hearts Club of PV GAS PIPE now gathers all employees of PV GAS PIPE, supported by the leadership and Trade Union; at the same time, it receives the 'spark' from units within PV GAS as well as other kind-hearted individuals. The total amount the club has received to organize social support activities is over 300 million VND. The club has visited 87 families in difficult circumstances during the Lunar New Year, cooked and distributed 600 meals at Go Cong General Hospital, repaired houses for needy families with a total amount of nearly 55 million VND... Especially, the 'Zero Dong Fair' organized by the club to donate clothes to the needy is a remarkable event, loved and remembered by the people of Tien Giang with gratitude. The support activities may be modest, but they always bring a lot of happiness and spreading, sharing difficulties in the community.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the club had to stop its activities due to financial constraints and the need to limit large gatherings. In 2024, with the leadership's approval at PV GAS PIPE, the Women's Union combined with the Youth Union and the Golden Hearts Club of PV PIPE are determined to "reignite" the club's annual program, while extending the call for kind-hearted groups/individuals to participate in the "2024 Spring of Love - Year of the Tiger Program" to give gifts to needy families in Gò Công town, Vàm Láng commune, and Kiểng Phước commune - Gò Công Đông district, Tiền Giang province.
The program's plan sets a goal to gather 120 gifts, equivalent to around 84 million VND, to support Tet for families, especially those facing difficulties. At the same time, the program continues to call for support to organize the "Zero Dong Fair", compiling clothes, toys... that have been used to give to various age groups, from children to the elderly.
Surprisingly, the program received enthusiastic support from units/individuals within the Vietnam Gas Industry Corporation (PV GAS), including grassroots unions of the Management Agency, Gas Project Management Company, Gas Service Company; PV GAS Youth Union, PV GAS Women's Union... and the enthusiastic support from PV GAS PIPE employees, some philanthropists. The total amount of donations and support exceeded expectations, reaching nearly 150 million VND. The quantity of clothes and toys sent to Tien Giang has never been as high as this: over 30 large packages, including many good, beautiful, versatile clothes for various ages and toys for children.
From the source of support, the organizing committee of the '2024 Loving Spring Program' has decided to organize cooking and selling square glutinous rice cakes, with the desire to send love to the community, and to deliver the traditional Tet flavor to every home. This is a very bold decision of the PV GAS PIPE women's committee because making a pot of square glutinous rice cakes is not easy, it requires a lot of determination and effort. To get a beautiful, fragrant green square glutinous rice cake, the sisters had to research, buy precious ingredients such as sticky rice, mung beans, dong leaves, and lalt... up to standard; even those shipments that arrived in Tien Giang from faraway places like Bac Ha, Thanh Hoa, Nam Dinh, passing through Ho Chi Minh City. The tension and anxiety lasted until the last day, when the shipment of dong leaves encountered problems, until 10pm the night before the cake wrapping day before it was finally transferred to Tien Giang. The leaf washing team, which had been preparing for many hours, worked diligently into the late night to ensure that the round and beautiful cake wrapping process was not delayed.
In the context of the Company having only 3 people who know how to wrap Chung cakes, the Organizing Committee was "smart" to call for the help of the Border Guard Station in Kien Phuoc commune and the Women's Union of Vam Lang commune. The target of over 200 cakes was too demanding, so the training session for making Chung cakes took place on the spot; those who knew guided attentively, while those who didn't know enthusiastically participated in learning. The first experience was thrilling and worrisome, but the collective strength eventually produced hundreds of square, fresh cakes in a joyful atmosphere, motivating and encouraging each other, all for the beautiful product honoring the Vietnamese Lunar New Year.
And so, the "Spring of Love 2024 Program" took place beautifully in Tien Giang, as the Tet holiday was approaching. PV GAS PIPE invited those in need to exchange greetings at 2 locations: The company's headquarters and the PV GAS PIPE factory. Wherever it was, the atmosphere of the meetings was very friendly and warm. There was a market with many clean and beautiful clothes for people to choose from. Officials of PV GAS PIPE, representatives of the Labor Union of various units, the Youth Union, the Women's Union of PV GAS, along with philanthropists, accompanied and visited, giving Tet gifts, and giving traditional Chung cakes...
In summary, the program has provided 150 gifts to poor households, people with disabilities, and lonely elderly people in 3 localities: Go Cong town, Vam Lang town, and Kien Phuoc commune - Go Cong Dong district. The organizers also gave an additional 16 gifts to the security forces; 23 gifts, each equivalent to 200,000 VND, to disabled individuals selling lottery tickets from wheelchairs and other disadvantaged groups. Everyone received the gifts with joy, warmth, like a family reunion day. The program also expressed the wish for everyone to have good health, strive to rise out of poverty, for a warm and happy life.
Continuing the tradition of PV GAS "For a better community", PV GAS PIPE is determined to mobilize even more strongly so that the golden hearts can accompany, continue to organize annual programs, spreading love to the people.
