"Every household limits plastic waste, everyone prevents plastic pollution, society moves towards saying no to plastic waste". The Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc's call at the nationwide launch of the Plastic Waste Prevention Movement in June 2019 has always been the guiding principle for action for central ministries, agencies, localities, the Fatherland Front, member organizations, businesses, and people to pay more attention, focus on leadership, and direct the implementation of plastic waste prevention activities to build a sustainable and safe living environment.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment selected the theme of the 2019 Campaign "Local Action, Global Impact", focusing primarily on the issue of minimizing and combating plastic waste pollution. This is a practical and urgent content in the context where many countries around the world are striving to eliminate plastic waste pollution, while calling for the entire political system, units, organizations, businesses, and people nationwide to join hands, unite, and be determined to act and implement the directives of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
