April 3, 2016, at Thong Nhat Hall, City. Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, Vietnam Gas Corporation - Joint Stock Company (PV GAS) held a ceremony to receive the Labor Hero title that the President awarded to PV GAS.

Attending the Celebration were Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Dinh La Thang - Politburo member, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; Representatives of Party and State leaders, central and local ministries, departments, branches, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. On the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group side, there was Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh - Chairman of the Board of Directors, leaders of the Party Committee, Trade Union, Board of Members, Board of General Directors, leaders of departments and affiliated units. On the side of Vietnam Gas Corporation were Mr. Le Nhu Linh - Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Duong Manh Son - General Director, leaders of the Party Committee, Trade Union, Board of Directors, Board of General Directors, representatives of leaders of departments and member and affiliated units; Representatives of veteran officials and outstanding labor examples, on behalf of over 3,000 employees of Vietnam Gas Corporation. Attending the ceremony were also representatives of consulates, friends, partners, and press agencies.  

After 25 years of establishment and development, PV GAS has achieved great and proud achievements, laying the foundation for the development of the Gas industry in Vietnam, participating in ensuring national energy and food security, as well as developing the country's economy and society. Becoming the leader of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group - That is the pride of PV GAS, but also a testament to a long journey of perseverance, with many silent self-reliance and self-reliance, summarizing efforts to overcome challenges, in a quarter of a century of many changes. 

The Labor Hero title that PV GAS is honored to receive is the State's recognition of the great achievements that generations of PV GAS employees have strived and contributed with the close guidance and effective support of the Government, central and local ministries, partners, and shareholders; especially the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group. PV GAS is grateful for 25 years of creativity, flexibility, and enduring hardship of generations of PV GAS leaders and employees. They are proof of Vietnamese intelligence and will, striving to master a leading technology and always demanding perfection, creating solid development relationships with customers, partners and large multinational oil and gas corporations in the world. 

The appearance of Vietnam's gas industry over the past 25 years has changed rapidly from the first steps, developing strongly, firmly and convincingly. This is a great victory thanks to the wise, ingenious and timely direction of the State, ministries and branches, and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group. In the process of striving to overcome challenges, Vietnam Gas Corporation has made many efforts to well carry out the planned tasks assigned by the Group, bringing the gas industry to constantly develop, specifically:

– All gas projects managed by PV GAS have been completed and developed synchronously, bringing high socio-economic efficiency, creating a premise for building PV GAS according to a complete production and business model in the stages of collection, import, transportation, storage, processing, and trading of gas and gas products. Vietnam Gas Corporation has affirmed its pioneering position in the Gas industry, contributing significantly to the sustainable development of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group as well as the socio-economic development of the country. Vietnam Gas Corporation ensures safety in production and business activities, preventing serious incidents related to human life, property and the country's environment from occurring. 

– PV GAS has successfully transformed from a single-member limited liability company model to a joint stock company, marking a turning point in the Corporation's development history. The more successful than expected results of the equitization process have increased PV GAS's corporate value and benefited the State by trillions of dong. From the right development orientation, for many consecutive years, PV GAS has always exceeded the plan assigned by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, becoming one of the leading units of the Group, a prominent brand on the stock exchange in terms of profits, and making a significant contribution to the National budget. PV GAS is continuously in the Top 10 enterprises paying the highest corporate income tax in Vietnam, Top 500 largest enterprises in Vietnam voted by VNR. PV GAS was announced by Nikkei Asia Review magazine to be on the list of 50 most valuable companies in Southeast Asia; is in the Top 2,000 largest enterprises in the world in 2014, 2015 and leads the list of "50 best listed enterprises in Vietnam in 2015" voted by Forbes.

– PV GAS continuously exceeded assigned plans in terms of output, revenue, budget payment, and profit. Over the past 25 years, PV GAS has always followed that direction and has successfully completed the task with a relatively complete gas industrial system and continues to be completed.  Many modern and admirable buildings; Many projects are coordinated in detail, meticulously and synchronously, creating a continuous, complex and large-scale network. PV GAS is currently managing total assets of nearly 3 billion USD, with 4 gas systems with a total length of more than 1,200 km of sea-shore pipelines, 2 gas processing plants, many gas distribution stations, 12 warehouses storing nearly 100,000 tons of LPG (equal to 58% of the country's warehouse capacity)... PV GAS has strongly developed a number of services such as natural gas transportation, storage, condensate transportation, maintenance and repair of utilities. Gas processing, steel pipe production and pipe coating for oil and gas activities, distribution of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), low pressure gas, compressed natural gas (CNG).  To meet the increasing demand for domestic gas consumption, PV GAS is also actively preparing to invest in new projects such as Block B - O Mon gas project, Su Tu Trang, importing liquefied natural gas (LNG) ... to increase the value of gas use, effectively exploit natural resources, as well as to ensure the sustainable development of the country. 

Currently, PV GAS is providing gas to produce 30% to 35% of electricity output, 70% of nitrogen fertilizer needs and maintains about 70% of the domestic LPG market share, serving the industry, transportation and civil sectors of the country. Each year, PV GAS contributes an average of 10% of the entire revenue of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group and over 2% of the country's GDP, making a positive contribution to the State budget. In terms of output, PV Gas has provided over 102 billion m3 of dry gas, 10.5 million tons of liquefied gas and approximately 1.6 million tons of Condensate. Total revenue reached nearly 517 trillion VND. Budget contribution reached 57 trillion VND. Profit after tax is over 83 trillion VND.

At the time, Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group and Vietnam Gas Corporation – Joint Stock Company (PV GAS) faced significant external challenges. Complex and unpredictable changes in the world economy, particularly low oil prices, were placing growing pressure on domestic businesses and PV GAS. The PV GAS Board of Directors and workforce proactively identified and assessed these obstacles, with close guidance and timely support from the Government, ministries and Petrovietnam. PV GAS developed appropriate management and operating measures, encouraged dedication and innovation in production and business, and combined its internal strengths with opportunities and support from customers, partners and shareholders to overcome the difficulties.

With PV GAS's potential and stable business model, PV GAS has prepared a strong stance and has certain advantages to enter the new phase. PV GAS has built for itself a clear development direction and strategy, following each specific roadmap. That is a long-term strategy, not only for 2016 but also for the next development period until 2025, with a vision to 2035 and beyond. Accordingly, the overall goal is: "Developing Vietnam Gas Corporation - Joint Stock Company into a strong, efficient, highly competitive gas enterprise, fully operating in all stages of collection - import-export - transportation - processing/deep processing - storage - services - trading of gas and gas products, participating in upstream investment activities. Playing a leading role in the gas industry nationwide and actively participating in the international market". This is the time to promote the PV GAS brand, thereby continuing to arouse pride and the will to move forward for the mission in the new era.

Along with the strong development momentum of becoming a Corporation, expanding operations to all regions of the country, social security has become a part of PV GAS's Development Strategy, creating a friendly connection in the community between the "Fire Seekers" of the Oil and Gas industry with difficult life situations and localities still facing many challenges. As of 2016, Vietnam Gas Corporation has contributed over 700 billion VND to Social Security work nationwide. Typically, PV GAS has directly sponsored the construction of over 5,000 Houses of Great Solidarity, Gratitude and Love with an amount of over 81 billion VND in many provinces and cities nationwide; support for the health sector of over 83 billion VND; Support for educational work is nearly 300 billion VND... Other welfare programs of PV GAS also reach over 160 billion VND. Typical examples include supporting localities affected by natural disasters and floods, supporting the life buoy program for students, supporting the Vietnam Red Cross to implement the "Cow Bank" program, supporting the Children's Protection Fund of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, supporting the "For the beloved Truong Sa" program, donating savings books to families of war invalids and martyrs - Vietnamese heroic mothers, awarding scholarships to poor children who are studious, participating and strongly sponsoring propaganda programs. information to protect the sea and islands... In addition, PV GAS also did not forget to volunteer for many years to sponsor the National Football Championship, Vietnam Volleyball Championship, and domestic tournaments with the earnest desire: to contribute to the rise of the country's sports industry, integrating with the region and Asia.
