As part of a series of activities to welcome Trade Union Congresses at all levels towards the 4th Corporation Trade Union Congress, term 2023 - 2028, the Photo Contest "Beauty of PV GAS Trade Unions and Workers" is one of the 5 most important events, with practical significance in building the image, brand, and culture of PV GAS. Nearly 500 photographic works by more than 120 authors from most affiliated unions are worthy and energetic tributes to innovation.
The art of photography, with its appeal and high practicality in working life and the community, has proven its special appeal through the "Photo Contest"The beauty of PV GAS Trade Union and EmployeesMoreover, this Photo Contest also affirms the tradition of photography activities that has existed and developed at PV GAS, has supported professional work, and helped each employee have a more beautiful, happier way of life, remembered at every moment.
Mr. Tran Xuan Thanh, Chairman of PV GAS Trade Union emotionally said: "When organizing the Photo Contest, the Union did not dare to expect that the Contest would receive such a wide response and achieve such good quality. In just 2 months of launching the Contest, the Organizing Committee received nearly 500 photos from more than 120 authors from almost all units with enthusiastic responses, with respectful artistic efforts. The Organizing Committee and the Contest Jury unanimously affirmed that, the Contest Photo "Beauty of PV GAS Trade Union and Employees" organized by PV GAS Trade Union was a great success".
In the context of preparation and completion of all 16 grassroots trade union congresses, along with extremely urgent labor dedication requirements in 2023, the results of the Contest come from the efforts of popularizing, promoting and campaigning the Contest of the Trade Union Executive Committee at all levels. The Organizing Committee (BTC) has carefully prepared in building the Contest Plan and Rules, made good use of the ability to gather through network communication, well implemented the evaluation steps, creating a strong attraction among the staff and workers (employees) in the unit.
Most of the contest photos have content suitable to the topic, clearly capturing the image of employees, as well as the exciting activities of the PV GAS Trade Union. Those impressive images are associated with every field of activity, in almost every unit. What is precious is that the works are recorded by the workers themselves, using simple recording devices, sometimes just personal phones. In different images, there is the same assertion: PV GAS employees are of the same mind, united for a common goal; Happiness and cordiality in a common home spreads solidarity. Each authentic photo contributes to propaganda and promotion of human potential and the beauty of labor; contribute to arousing love for homeland and country; creating changes in awareness and action, making practical contributions to the action program of PV GAS Union in the new term.
The jury, made up of photographers with extensive expertise and experienced media experts, unanimously agreed to select nearly 200 photos to be included in the selection round and selected 34 winning photos.
The winning works all represent the theme well; have a meaningful message; have creative and fresh content; Impressive, realistic and evocative images about the journey or shared story. The Organizing Committee and the Jury highly appreciated many contents expressed: responsibility at work, implementing Safety - Quality - Efficiency, friendly relations in cooperation, actively protecting the environment, Border sovereignty education, Sports, Culture and arts, Social charity...; which emphasizes the role of workers, whose beauty is clearly shown in each frame. Many works have achieved success in terms of expression and basic aesthetic elements.
Many works have neat layouts, harmonious colors, and balanced details creating a visual impression. Some particularly good photos, focusing on some outstanding authors, know how to apply and process photography techniques, bringing the work to a higher level of perspective and creative framing. Photo captions and stories about the time the photos were taken are also interesting and respectful shares.
The works that won the Special, First, and Second prizes were very successful in expressing content as well as applying photographic language. The authors had a good grasp of photography techniques as well as the thinking of using light sources and choosing frames. The Third and Consolation prize winning photos also fully deserve to be honored at this Contest. In addition to aesthetic elements, the photos also achieve certain content values, being typical in expressing the contest's theme...
However, due to the limited ability of many authors to perform photography techniques, the quality of the photos is still low. Many photos lack dynamism, uniqueness, and the art of using light and composition. All 500 photos are still not a complete and comprehensive "Report" on all aspects of the activities of the Union and PV GAS employees. This is a note to orient the development of the collective art of photography more practically and effectively in the future.
Along with sports, cultural and artistic activities, community activities... Photography contests with quality and consensus like the 2023 Contest always bring many meanings to Trade Union activities, improving the spiritual life of workers. It is a way to innovate and diversify propaganda methods, exploiting the advantages of vivid visual propaganda methods; Promote educational work and raise the sense of responsibility of trade union establishments and each union member towards the mission and love towards PV GAS.
Mr. Tran Xuan Thanh expressed his enthusiasm: "The most interesting conclusion that we draw from here is: Photo contest organization models need to be organized periodically, regularly and constantly upgraded and developed. At the same time, it is very necessary to have popularization activities, organize training classes, equip basic knowledge about photography for a large number of officials and employees at each unit... If workers are instructed to use cameras and take photos with phones so that beautiful, the way to handle image issues is more beautiful... then we believe that PV GAS's image materials will become increasingly rich, the quality of competitions will also increasingly improve and will be welcomed and responded to more enthusiastically.
The success of the Contest, the most memorable thing about the Contest is that the union members had the opportunity to do artistic activities together, giving PV GAS memorable images and unforgettable moments."
