On the morning of August 18, 2024, athletes from PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) actively participated in the PVD RUN 2024, showcasing their solidarity and responsibility towards the community in this major sporting event of the oil and gas industry. The run, organized by PV Drilling Corporation, carried the message “New Momentum for Growth” and attracted over 600 athletes from various units in the industry, including PTSC, PV GAS, PV Power, PVCFC, PVFCCo, PV Trans, Vietsovpetro, PVI, PVEP, BIENDONG POC, Phu Quoc POC, PV PIPE, PV Oil, PVCombank, and PETROSETCO. The event took place at Sala Urban Area in Thu Duc City, not only as a sporting activity but also as a kickoff for a series of events leading up to the 2024 Oil and Gas Cultural Week.
The PVD RUN 2024 featured three competition distances: 10km, 5km, and 3km, suitable for both male and female athletes across two age groups. The 10km distance was divided into two categories: one for employees of PV Drilling and one for guests. All athletes who completed their distances received medals, with modern technology applied to record the competition results.
The PV GAS team participated with 17 outstanding runners, selected from the company's prominent running movement. With 12 male and 5 female representatives from various provinces, the athletes not only demonstrated enthusiasm but also honored the sporting spirit of PV GAS. At the event, the PV GAS team achieved many impressive results, with athlete Vũ Mạnh Nhất from CNG Vietnam Corporation winning first place in the men's category, while Nguyễn Hữu Thức from Nam Con Son Gas Pipeline Company took second place. The first place in the women's category was awarded to Võ Thị Lý from the Gas Services Company, and the third place went to Hoàng Thị Hà from Vietnam Petroleum Steel Pipe Manufacturing Joint Stock Company (PV PIPE). Many other PV GAS athletes were also recognized in the top rankings, proving their persistent and serious training
The PVD RUN 2024 not only brought joy through sports but also contributed to social welfare. Each participating athlete donated to the social welfare fund, and the organizers presented 600 health insurance cards to disadvantaged residents in Cầu Kho and Cầu Ông Lãnh wards, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. Through this event, PV GAS athletes conveyed the message of health and solidarity, affirming the oil and gas industry's commitment to enhancing the quality of life in the community. The run also served as an opportunity for the entire industry to demonstrate the spirit of “One Team – One Goal,” celebrating major holidays of the industry and the nation.
