Great impression from the Photo Contest "Beauty of PV GAS Trade Unions and Employees"

As part of the series of activities to welcome the Congress of Trade Unions at all levels towards the 4th Congress of the Corporation's Trade Union, term 2023 - 2028, the photo contest "The Beauty of Trade Unions and Workers of PV GAS" is one of the 5 most important events, with practical significance in building the image, brand, and culture of PV GAS. Nearly 500 photos by over 120 authors from most of the affiliated trade unions are worthy tributes and full of energy to inspire innovation.

The art of photography, with its high appeal and practicality in labor and community life, has proven its special attraction through the Photo Contest "The Beauty of Trade Union and Workers at PV GAS". Furthermore, this photo contest also affirms the tradition of photography activities that have existed and developed at PV GAS, supporting professional work while helping each worker have a more beautiful, happier way of living, remembered in every moment.

Mr. Tran Xuan Thanh, Chairman of PV GAS Trade Union, affirmed that the photo contest "The Beauty of the Trade Union and Laborers of PV GAS" organized by PV GAS Trade Union has been very successful.

Mr. Tran Xuan Thanh, Chairman of the PV GAS Trade Union, emotionally stated: "When organizing the Photo Contest, the Trade Union did not dare to expect that the Contest would receive such wide participation and achieve such high quality. Just within 2 months of launching the Contest, the Organizing Committee received nearly 500 photos from over 120 authors from most units with enthusiastic responses, with artistic efforts worthy of admiration. The Organizing Committee and the Contest's Judges unanimously affirmed that the photo contest 'Beauty of the Trade Union and PV GAS Workers', organized by the PV GAS Trade Union, was a great success."

In the context of preparing and completing all 16 grassroots trade union congresses, along with the urgent demands of labor dedication in 2023, the achievements of the Contest originate from the efforts of promoting, propagating, and mobilizing the Contest by the Executive Committee of all levels of Trade Union. The Organizing Committee (OC) has been meticulous in preparing the Plan, Contest Rules, utilizing the gathering capabilities through online communication, effectively implementing evaluation steps, creating strong attraction in the team of officials, workers, and employees within the unit.

Most of the entries have content suitable for the theme, clearly capturing images of workers, as well as the vibrant activities of the PV GAS Labor Union. These impressive images are associated with all fields of operation, in almost all units. What is valuable is that the works are recorded by the workers themselves, using simple recording devices, sometimes just a personal phone. In different images, there is a common affirmation: PV GAS workers are united, united for a common goal; happiness and affection in the shared home spread solidarity. Each authentic photo contributes to the promotion, dissemination of the potential of human beings and the beauty of labor; contributing to awakening the love for the homeland, the country; creating changes in perception and action, making practical contributions to the action program of the PV GAS Labor Union in the new term.

The judges, consisting of experienced photographers and communication experts, unanimously selected nearly 200 photos for the selection round and further chose 34 winning photos.

The award-winning works all well express the themes; convey meaningful messages; have creative and fresh content; impressive, realistic, and emotive images about the journey or shared stories. The Organizing Committee and the Jury highly appreciate many aspects that are presented: responsibility in work, implementation of Safety - Quality - Efficiency, friendly relations in cooperation, active environmental protection, education on sovereignty, physical education and sports, cultural and artistic activities, social charity...; among which, they emphasize the role of workers, whose beauty is clearly depicted in each image frame. Many works have achieved success in presentation methods, incorporating fundamental aesthetic elements.

Quite a few works have neat layouts, harmonious colors, balanced detailed areas that create a visual impression. Some exceptionally good photos, the focus of some outstanding authors, have known how to apply and handle photographic techniques, bringing the work to a high level in terms of perspective and creative layout. The photo captions, the stories of the moment of taking the photo, are also interesting and valuable shares.

The Special, First Prize, and Second Prize-winning works are very successful in both content expression and the application of photographic language. The authors have a strong grasp of photographic techniques as well as the ability to use light sources and choose frames. The Third Prize and Encouragement Award-winning photos are also completely deserving of recognition in this competition. In addition to aesthetic factors, these photos also achieve certain values in terms of content, being exemplary in expressing the theme of the competition...

However, due to the limited photography skills of many authors, the quality of the photos is still low. Many photos lack dynamism, uniqueness, artistic use of light and composition. The entire 500 photos are not yet a comprehensive "Report" on all aspects of the activities of the Trade Union and PV GAS workers. This is a note to guide the development of the photography art form in a more practical and effective collective manner in the future.

Along with sports, culture, arts, and community activities, the photography contest with quality and consensus like the 2023 contest always brings significant meanings in trade union activities, uplifting the spiritual life of the laborers. It is an innovative way to diversify propaganda methods, exploit the advantages of vivid visual propaganda methods; promote educational activities, enhance the sense of responsibility of the trade union bases and each member towards the mission and love for PV GAS.

Mr. Tran Xuan Thanh expressed his dedication: "The most valuable lesson we have drawn from here is that: Photography organization models need to be regularly organized, frequently upgraded and continuously developed. At the same time, it is crucial to have popularizing activities, organize training courses, provide basic photography knowledge for a large number of employees and workers at each unit... If workers are guided on how to use cameras, take beautiful photos with their phones, enhance image processing skills... then I believe that the PV GAS image archives will become more and more abundant, the quality of competitions will also improve day by day and be more welcomed and received enthusiastically."

The success of the contest, the most memorable thing about the contest is that union members had the opportunity to participate in artistic activities together, giving PV GAS memorable images, unforgettable moments.
